Mixing sport in the community with recruitment

With offices in Shrewsbury, Stafford and Welshpool we are all about our local region and the fantastic people who make it so brilliant. We have been getting involved in lots of sports events in the local area, so we thought it was time for an update on everything that’s been going on!

Ludlow Golf Day

We kicked off May sponsoring the South Shropshire Golf Day at Ludlow Golf Club. The event was organised by Shrewsbury Town in the Community. Seven teams competed in 18 holes of Texas scramble style golf in teams of four players.

Over £1,100 was raised for the charity which is great, and there are now many proud owners of our orange DM Recruitment golf balls!

Mascot Competition

We have been holding a competition for a young supporter to be the mascot at the highly anticipated Aston Villa game against Shrewsbury Town on the 21st July. People have been nominating young super fans on our facebook page, and we are excited to announce Sophie Brown’s son Riley is the winner!

We will be organising a football kit for Riley and look forward to seeing him on the pitch at the game. We hope Riley has an amazing day, and a very happy 7th birthday to him for the following day!

Summer Cup

On the 31st August we are sponsoring another Shrewsbury Town in the Community event – the Summer Cup tournament at Ludlow Football Stadium for football mad youngsters.

This event will be open to grass roots football teams from U7s to U12s.  It will be a great way to warm up for the season ahead with a fun day of football.

This will be the third annual tournament, with last year’s event being a great success with 60 teams competing.  Games will be split over the morning and afternoon, and the entry cost is £25 per team.

Shrewsbury Town in the Community make such a positive difference within the county by encouraging people of all ages to get involved with sport.  We are a people business drawn to hard-working, dedicated individuals, and this fantastic charity is certainly rich in this kind of talent.  We look forward to continuing our relationship with them to bring more engagement with sport within our community.
